Just handed the plans to the plumber for quoting up for Big Maggys bathrooms, shower cubicles, coffee machine pipework, dishwasher, tumble dryer (yep so we can wash and dry your kits for you Big Maggys commuter clients!).

I also have him a copy of the budget for the project so he can see how much money is in the pot – that way if he quotes over the odds, I’ll know he can’t read.. Therefore clearly not capable of following instructions for installing shower mixers and taps.. Cunning strategy?

Next stop, meeting with Carpenters (no not the band, are they dead? Answers on a post card).

A little Friday (morning) trivia…don’t know about The Plumbers (did they have any big hits?), but Karen Carpenter died back in ’83 due to complications from anorexia. She is connected to Mama Cass (Mamas & The Papas) by way of a bad joke. Cass, who was obese, died in ’74 – originally thought to have choked on a ham sandwich. The cruel joke – If Mama Cass had only shared her ham sandwich with Karen Carpenter, they’d both still be alive today. Too soon? Hey – I’m not condoning it, I’m just reporting the facts. (Cass actually died of “Fatty Myocardial Degeneration due to obesity”). All things in moderation!
