The Hangover and some Red Wine
Big Maggys had a bit of a get together last evening at Chez Williams. Magnus & Martin were in Jersey to talk with various people about the Tour de Bretange which is holding the first two stages of the race on Jersey over 25th & 26th April and is a race which will see the Sprocket Pro Cycling team (Sponsored by Magnus Maximus Coffee and BigMaggys.com) riding on ‘home’ soil. It was also an opportunity for the four of us to catch up on the progress of the shop, confirm various ‘Out of Office’ events and arrange cover accordingly. A few new ideas were thrown about and some of them will be developed over the coming months, and a few old ideas were deleted from the ‘to do’ list. Overall it was a fantastic dinner with good company and some great food prepared by a well known sweary Italian celebrity chef – Mo’F'faman. The evening wound up at about 0100 hrs after a lot of red wine and The Hangover on DVD. It was one of the funniest films I’ve seen in a long time (and No, I’m not an expert film critic either.)
A meeting with a ‘Charity worker’ today has the potential to see the Big Maggys crew undertaking a massive ride at the end of the summer. Details at the moment are remaining a bit private but watch this space and the bigmaggys website for further info as it becomes available.
This afternoon has also seen us negotiate our way towards a new brand of high-end carbon road components. Over the next few days we hope to firm things up and when we do you will be the first to know.
Work on the shop is still progressing and we are hoping to have the carpet laid on the upstairs floor early next week. The plumber and electrician are doing their bits at the moment so we can get back in over the weekend and start building stuff.
The hunt for a coffee assistant is still on. Over 100 applicants so far and I am happy to report that we have some that are ‘very suitable for purpose’ .
All in all a good couple of days and lots of positive progress has been made. Follow us on Twitter at ‘bigmaggys’ for the latest tweets and comments. For info on all products and availability on ANY thing we can get hold of, you know where to find me & moffs.
Picture below is a very nice, very fast bit of Bling. Call for details.
