The Aftermath
New Years Eve seems a long time ago now that I am sitting at my desk again. I did manage to complete just about everything on the list and get Moffs the spicy Kettle crisps and humous dip (even though he is ‘an athelete’ ) as requested. In the end we had 4 little piggies from the market and just about everyone went home with a doggy bag. A massive Thank You to Neil who worked all night to keep the pigs cooking and also to Shaun B who carved them up. The party topped out at 50 with at least 35 glasses (paper cups – classy we are not) of bubbly being handed out at midnight. Peter Derrick didn’t disappoint with his dancing prowess but Hazel Pushman decided that this time she didn’t need to compete – everyone knows she is the dancing queen.
The tidying up was started by Jules and Des (Thank You) whilst Mike attempted to climb inside the sofa and gave up as his eye lids became too heavy. Overall the party seemed to go well and for those of you who couldn’t make it we wish you a very happy new year.
The first of Jan was spent adjusting Mike’s Campag gears on his well admired Argon TT bike before delivering it to its new home, followed by a great deal of tidying up. Tony & Dianne popped in for a catch up and a piggy sandwich and a game on the Wii. No comments about the spectacle of Susan & Dianne prancing about in front of the telly, but I can see a request on the other Mrs Williams’ birthday list.
The Blue AC1SL was built up with the DI2 from my Felt and the Gipiemme wheels and looked spectacular. It was ready for the party but we decided that the rollers and turbo session we had planned for the bikes might be a step too far with the anticipated alcohol consumption, so they were stored away. Unfortunately it remained unridden on New Years Day but made its debut on the club run on a soggy saturday morning.
Once again, a massive thank you to Neil, Shaun, Susan and Moffs for the help both before and during the evening and to everyone else who came and made it such an enjoyable evening.
Good luck and best wishes to everyone for 2010.
