Sitting in Big Maggys…

Here I am… unbelievable.  I know I should be working as Maggs moaned at me earlier that the mechanics bay wasnt up to sandard yet – Ok I’m working on it this evening so it will be transformed!

Anyway, now that the building work is firmly behind me excepting for a few lockers and some bathroom fixtures  - speaking of which, what do you all think of our pretentious hand towel system? Chic huh (!!!), we’re really pretty much finished. That said, I can now get back to doing what I do best – blog and poke bears!

In all seriousness though the last 2 months has been really hard work and I am so elated with all the support we have had. It’s been emotional at times seeing how much this place has become a community. So may people deserve awards for dedicated – the newly branded Mike ‘Michaelangelo’ Mitch and young Ryan have been the stars of the show – the fact that this place looks the way it does is in no small part down to these two chaps. I’ve seen Ryan go through so much change – we even saw him eat an apple!

But I didn’t sit here to tell you about all that, what I wanted to say was that this all started at Northpoint Bistro approximately 1 year ago after the Bal Tab Road Race.  A bunch of us including Michaelangelo, Mr Buist, myself and Pilotboy himself arrived to a busy place and waited…. and waited….. and waited….. and well you get the picture.  So Pilotboy and I got to talking and he had this idea or ‘concept’ of a magical place in which there were bikes… there were nice comfy chairs, there were Barista’s and there were shower rooms, newspapers, magazines, big screen TVs and signed Jersey’s on the wall.  So… I listened intently as I usually do when people start talk of a new ‘Business’ and waited to pick holes in his ridiculous idea… anyway… I waited for the holes…. and waited so more… and I couldn’t find any! So I guess this is the closest to admitting that Pilotboy was the genius behind the whole thing…

So after a lot of plannning and a lot of people thinking we were and are crazy, here it is.  So the day when I said to myself, I spend so much time spending money drinking coffee in other people’s coffee shops that I may as well open my own and use the money to pay for it  - became a reality.

Well done to all involved, you are amazing peeps and you know who you are!  thank you all so much.
