Hole in the Road – Job Done?
The road is repaired, the footpath is 95% repaired and we have a new blue plastic water poking through the wall in Big Maggys. The only problem is that with the water switched on at the mains (in the road), and water coming out of the new pipework we have no water in the rear half of the shop. We can hear the water running through some of the old pipework but it doesn’t get to the bits it used to. (sounds like a problem my grandfather complained of!) The presumption is that the pipe we disconnected at the road used to have a split feed at a point underground which we didn’t know about and it only effects our shop. If we are wrong, then the offices behind ours will have no water tomorrow and there will be a bigger hole in the road as the water people attempt to rectify the situation. Maybe our £3000 will go further than we thought.
