Generating Interest

The Velosport Jersey Saturday morning club ride has a small group that meet at about 0830 for a swift espresso or Latte (these people drink Shandy too) before joining the main group at the meeting point at 0900. There is nothing secret about this and anyone reading this is welcome to join us at Coffee republic next saturday. Several of the main group seem to have noticed our ‘Coffee Club’ all arriving together and mumblings have been heard in the peloton as to what is going on. The question in my mind is ‘What to do’? By telling everyone where we are and what we are doing do I then bring forward the meeting time of the ‘ride’ by 30 minutes and so cause everyone to have 30 minutes less in bed on a saturday morning or do I stay quiet and let others find out what is going on by the natural instinct of being inquisitive?  This dilemma seems to be becoming less of a problem as far as Big Maggys is concerned. More and more people seem to be aware that something is going on and that Moffaman & I are at the centre of it. Again the ‘chatter’ in the peloton is vaguely amusing but the overriding fact is that more and more people are getting the idea that we are able to source most things that they want or need to add to their cycling paraphernalia. Todays ride got some enquiries for complete kit for next summer, at least three sets of shoes, a time trial bike, a cadence/speed sensor and two turbo trainers. I was also asked if i was going to run any indoor training sessions.! The answer to all the questions is YES and a very loud one at that….. Now, what was it you wanted?
