7 Days

Less than a week till the start of operation Nigel Mansell Cycle Challenge. This time next week we will have done day one and hopefully be tucked up on bed in the premier inn peacefully in dreamworld. Our practice run on the L2P (London to Paris) had shown that we can ride with minimal stopping at a descent pace for at least four hours at a time for at least three days. From this we can work out that we only need to worry about days 4 to 13.!
Tony P (the pushmeister) is coming along as the chief spannerman for the tour and after several chats we have got several tool lists on the go (Greg is only at the top of one of them) . Clydepower (Adam) is also joining us for 2 sectors between Glasgow and Hexham so will add fresh legs and ammusement value in the middle of the ride.
Another fall out of the L2P run was a phone call from Will Carling who is looking for the black magic that is Magnus Maximus coffee. We had a chat about coffee ethics, charity, bib shorts & butt cream – what a combination.
More logistics sorted today and the younger mansells are heading to London tomorrow to pick up the team car ready to be loaded over the weekend. Pics & bits to follow in due course.
